At RedLibrary, we provide secure data destruction through controlled and monitored processing of data-bearing devices for individuals and organisations. Storage media such as hard drives, SSDs, USB devices, smartphones, and complete computer systems are processed using defined procedures designed to ensure that previously stored information cannot be recovered.
Secure data destruction is achieved through data neutralisation, applying appropriate methods based on media type and condition. Where required, physical destruction of storage components may be performed and documented.
The level of service and documentation is determined by the service tier selected by the client. Depending on the selected tier, devices may receive either a processing confirmation or certified documentation with online verification.
All devices are processed in a monitored, secure, and isolated environment with no external network access. We do not access, view, or process data stored on submitted media. Services are limited to data neutralisation and the controlled handling of storage components.
Processing procedures align with recognised security practices referenced in UK/EU GDPR (Article 32), ISO/IEC 27001 media handling controls, NCSC guidance, and NIST SP 800-88 Rev.1, where applicable.
The appropriate method is determined based on media type and condition unless a specific approach has been explicitly agreed in advance.
• Desktop PCs, laptops, and small form factor systems
• Hard Disk Drives (HDD): SATA, SAS, USB, IDE (PATA)
• Solid State Drives (SSD): SATA, M.2 SATA, M.2 NVMe, SAS, USB
• USB flash drives and memory sticks
• Memory cards: SD, microSD, CompactFlash, Sony M2, MMC, RS-MMC
• Smartphones and tablets (Android & iOS)
• Networking equipment, peripherals, and external storage
The level of service and documentation provided is determined by the service tier selected by the client.
• Standard Data Destruction – includes a processing confirmation stating that devices or storage media have been processed under controlled data destruction procedures.
• Certified Data Destruction – includes certified chain-of-custody documentation providing device or media-level certification with identifier (where available), processing method and time, certificate reference, and online verification, supported by recorded image evidence and associated processing timestamps.
Processing areas are monitored by CCTV and access is restricted. Devices and storage media are managed through controlled workflows with recorded processing steps and associated timestamps.
Service documentation may include a processing confirmation, certified documentation where selected, and a service invoice (including £0 invoices where applicable) to support organisational record keeping and governance requirements.
• Standard Data Destruction: Free
• Certified Data Destruction: Free for eligible items, otherwise £24.99 per device or storage media
• Certified Data Destruction + Device Return: £39.99 per device
Following data neutralisation, devices may be refurbished for reuse, dismantled for component recovery, or recycled through authorised electronic waste channels.
This approach prioritises secure data destruction first, enabling responsible reuse and recovery of assets where appropriate while reducing unnecessary electronic waste.
Arrange secure data destruction or request certified documentation for your devices or storage media.
