RedLibrary, We, Us, Our: Refers to RedLibrary Consulting Ltd.
Client: The individual or organisation using services provided by RedLibrary.
Data-Bearing Media: Any electronic device or storage component capable of storing digital information, including standalone media and embedded storage within computing devices.
Data Neutralisation: A process intended to render data stored on data-bearing media unrecoverable using methods appropriate to the media type and condition.
Data Destruction: The outcome of Data Neutralisation, where data stored on data-bearing media has been rendered permanently unrecoverable. This may be achieved through logical or physical methods depending on the media type, condition, and selected service.
Certification: Documentation issued by RedLibrary to evidence completion of a service, process, or training activity.
These Terms & Conditions apply to the services provided by RedLibrary as described on the website or otherwise agreed in writing, including secure data destruction, IT services, cybersecurity and data governance support, training, and related professional services.
Services are delivered in accordance with defined operational procedures and, where applicable, the RedLibrary Data Governance & Data Destruction Statement.
The scope, level, and nature of services provided may vary depending on the service selected, device condition, and operational considerations.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that items are appropriately packaged and shipped. The use of tracked and insured delivery is recommended. Return shipping is only included where explicitly stated in the service description.
Devices and storage media submitted for data destruction are processed using controlled procedures intended to render previously stored data unrecoverable.
The data neutralisation method is determined by RedLibrary based on media type, device condition, and operational handling requirements, unless a specific method has been explicitly agreed in writing in advance.
Processing activities are not intended to access, review, or analyse the data stored on submitted devices. Processing is limited to data neutralisation or physical destruction of storage media.
Documentation may be provided in accordance with the selected service tier. Certificates or processing records, where issued, are timestamped, non-transferable, and may be verified using a reference number and verification key.
RedLibrary is not liable for loss or damage in transit unless transport has been arranged directly by RedLibrary.
Processing times are indicative and may vary depending on device condition, quantity, and operational workload.
Devices and storage media submitted for data destruction are assessed upon receipt to determine the appropriate processing approach and level of documentation.
Processing methods may include data neutralisation, physical destruction, refurbishment, component recovery, or recycling, depending on device condition, service selection, and operational considerations.
The service tier is selected by the client, and the level of documentation provided is based on the selected service tier.
Certain devices or storage media may be eligible for enhanced documentation or certification services without additional charge where they retain sufficient residual commercial value.
Where a specific processing method, including physical destruction, is explicitly required by the client, RedLibrary will process the media in accordance with that requirement. Such requirements may affect service eligibility, processing approach, and applicable charges.
As a general guideline, devices within approximately five years of original release may be considered for such eligibility; however, eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account factors including device condition, specifications, and market viability.
RedLibrary reserves the right to determine eligibility for enhanced documentation or certification services based on these considerations.
Where a selected service cannot be completed due to device condition or technical limitations, processing outcomes may be adjusted in accordance with the selected service and agreed terms.
RedLibrary reserves the right to determine the appropriate processing method and outcome based on operational, technical, and safety considerations, unless otherwise explicitly agreed in writing.
Where device return services are requested, customers are responsible for ensuring that items are appropriately packaged and shipped. The use of tracked and insured delivery is recommended unless otherwise agreed.
Return shipping is included only where explicitly stated in the service description.
Where a specific processing method has been requested by the client, RedLibrary will apply that method where technically feasible.
Where such requirements restrict standard processing approaches, this may affect processing outcomes, service eligibility and eligibility for enhanced documentation or certification services.
Where data neutralisation cannot be completed due to device condition, hardware failure, or technical limitations, RedLibrary will process the media using an alternative appropriate method in accordance with the selected service and agreed terms.
Devices or storage media may, where applicable, be:
Devices and storage media submitted for data destruction services may be refurbished, reused, resold, or recycled where appropriate following completion of data neutralisation procedures.
Where devices or media are not requested to be returned to the client, ownership of the physical device transfers to RedLibrary after completion of processing, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Devices submitted under return services remain the property of the client and will be returned following completion of the selected service.
All pre-owned hardware sold by RedLibrary is tested, verified, and subject to data neutralisation procedures prior to sale.
A 30-day functional warranty applies from the date of delivery. This warranty covers faults that affect the intended operation of the device under normal use.
Returns are accepted where a fault is identified that is not attributable to misuse, modification, accidental damage, or unauthorised repair.
Cosmetic defects are not covered under warranty unless they materially affect the functionality or usability of the device.
Unless explicitly agreed or stated otherwise in writing, hardware is supplied without guarantee of operating system presence, configuration, or licensing status.
Data Security & Governance services are provided on an advisory, review, assessment, documentation, configuration, support, and evidence-based basis unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.
The client confirms that they are the lawful owner of, or have explicit authority to act on, all systems, devices, applications, services, accounts, environments, and data involved in the requested services.
Where services involve access to client systems, documentation, environments, source code, logs, or other information, such access is provided with the client’s knowledge and consent and is limited to the scope necessary to deliver the agreed service.

Additional information, configuration changes, supplier changes, software updates, operational changes, or previously undisclosed circumstances may affect findings or conclusions.
Services may identify observations, potential risks, areas requiring verification, documentation inconsistencies, governance concerns, technical findings, or operational recommendations. RedLibrary does not guarantee the prevention of incidents, vulnerabilities, operational issues, regulatory action, compliance outcomes, or future events.
Where services include reviews, assessments, or reports, findings are limited to the agreed scope of work and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that all issues, risks, vulnerabilities, processing activities, or dependencies have been identified.
Any recommendations provided remain subject to the client’s own operational, legal, regulatory, commercial, and technical decision-making processes. Responsibility for implementing, maintaining, approving, or rejecting recommendations remains with the client unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Certificates may be issued following completion of training or relevant service delivery, where applicable.
Certificates are non-transferable and may contain identifying information necessary for verification.
Verification may be performed through a secure reference-based system, including the use of a certificate number and verification key where applicable.
Certificates and associated verification records are issued as evidence of completed training or processing activities and do not constitute a guarantee of future performance, device condition, or ongoing compliance.
