IT Asset Disposal (ITAD)

At RedLibrary, we provide secure IT asset disposal and recycling for individuals, businesses, and organisations across North Lincolnshire. Our local service offers free collection around Scunthorpe for redundant IT equipment — ensuring every device is handled, processed, and recycled in full compliance with UK GDPR, WEEE regulations, ISO 14001, and NCSC IA No.5.

What We Do

We collect, process, and responsibly recycle IT equipment of all kinds. Every device received is examined for condition, data content, and environmental handling requirements. Storage media are securely wiped or physically destroyed before reuse or recycling. Nothing leaves our facility without verified data sanitisation or destruction documentation.

Our Process

All collections are transported directly to our RedLibrary Processing Centre under secure handling and logged chain-of-custody. Upon arrival, each item undergoes evaluation and data sanitisation following one of two pathways:

• Reuse Path: Equipment suitable for reuse is securely wiped to NCSC IA No.5 Base Level (DoD 5220.22-M or firmware Secure Erase), verified, and prepared for refurbishment or donation.
• Recycle Path: Non-functional or outdated items are dismantled and physically destroyed to Enhanced Level compliance. Components and metals are recycled under ISO 14001 environmental management principles.

Collection Details

Our ITAD service is currently available for free collection within Scunthorpe and surrounding areas (including Brigg, Broughton, and Winterton). Larger volumes or business collections can be arranged by appointment. All collections are confirmed by email, and customers receive documentation confirming transfer of custody.
